New Food....

I had been to China Town today in Singapore. I really felt like a tourist as I looked around the shops did buy some stuff and ate new food......... Abt shopping in China Town may be I will write some day later...... Now I want to write about food........

I had a Vegetarian Pau today........ its was filled with mushrooms and i think they were Shitake mushroom............ its a steamed bread with a filling inside it........ I had been wanting to eat it for a long time but I always came across places that had non veg Pau.......... It was nice.....

Then I went to a Thai place just across the Pau stall....... I looked through the menu and thought of ordering Spring rolls that had vegetarian filling...... As we were waiting for the rolls... Me and Titah, the other intern with me flipped through the menu card....... And we came across this unusal dessert of Mango and Rice.. Unusal Combo!!!

Titah ordered it aand we started eating the spring rolls..... I ate a spring roll with a chop stick :) and was very happy & thrilled about it....... Finally the Mango Rice dessert came... It was yummyyyy........... Its like a combination of Rice Kheer with sliced mango....... The difference being that the Kheer is made of coconut milk and glutinous rice....... it was bit too sweet with the creamy coconut milk and the mango tasted awesome........

So next time I hear of Mango and Rice Thai dessert i will happily order and gobble it down.......

My Favorite Book.....

The Alchemist is a book written by Paulo Cohelo a Brazilian Writer........ Alchemist was his first book that I read and then read a lot others......... Still Alchemist is close to my heart for the simple reason this book made ne read again.

I have loved reading books since childhood. In between I had just lost my love to read them. I had simply lost my intrest in reading. It is so funny coz I still remember how i read this book. There was guest lecture for us in college. The room was crowded the speaker was excellent in her field but she was blocked from my view and hence I could not pay any attention to her. One of our Prof was sitting around us and hence could not really chit chat inspite of being on the last row chairs. One of my friend had this book, I read the preface and the recommendations and I thought this is a self help book so was not really intrested. Finally i realized i had nothing to do and so started reading it........ And then kept reading it till I completed the book..... :) And then started hunting for more books by Paulo Cohelo and others and here I was finding and enjoying the pleasures of reading again.....
